One Piece Season 3 Cast Will Include Cole Escola as Bon Clay and Xolo Maridueña as Ace

We are still five months away from the premiere of One Piece’s second season—but the smash Netflix show’s third season is already underway and ramping up casting. This week has already had two big announcements: Cole Escola is set to play Bon Clay, also known as Bentham, also known as Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, and Xolo Maridueña is on board as Portgas D. Ace, the sworn brother of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy).
Netflix describes Bon Clay as “a master of performance and precision who is as dangerous as they are dazzling, a theatrical assassin who turns combat into art.” This seems a perfect role for Escola, who is a newly minted Tony Award-winner for Oh, Mary!, which Escola wrote and starred in.
For Maridueña, this is a return to Netflix: The actor starred in Cobra Kai for the streamer. He also starred in the DC Comics film Blue Beetle (pictured above). Deadline describes his One Piece role as “a pivotal character in the manga mythology.” Portgas D. Ace is the son of the Pirate King Gol D. Roger, though that relationship sounds perhaps not so warm and fuzzy.
One Piece, which is adapted from the manga series by Eiichiro Oda, was renewed for a third season earlier this year, with Ian Stokes announced as the series’ new co-showrunner (alongside Joe Tracz). That third season will begin production later this year. Season two arrives on Netflix on March 10, 2026.[end-mark]
