Lingen Story a WSFA Small Press Award Finalist
Marissa Lingen's story "A Pilgrimage to the God of High Places," from BCS #406 and podcast BCS 331, has been named a finalist for the Washington Science-Fiction Association Small Press Award, given annually at their convention, Capclave. Congratulations! Marissa has had fifteen stories and eight podcasts appear in BCS over the years (and another is forthcoming). BCS stories have been finalists for the WSFA Small Press Award before, including “Foxfire, Foxfire” by Yoon Ha Lee (BCS #194 Science-Fantasy Month 3 and podcast BCS 168), "A Salvaging of Ghosts" by Aliette de Bodard (BCS #195 Science-Fantasy Month 3 and podcast BCS 170), and "The Pirate Captain's Daughter" by Yoon Ha Lee (BCS #27 and podcast BCS 025). Also named finalist this year for a story appearing in another venue is BCS author Elly Bangs ("Doctor Souvenir," BCS #400 – Science-Fantasy Month 7 and podcast BCS 325 and "A Handful of Sky," BCS #280).
